Halifax Hospitality Hiring Fair

Find the fit for you!

Meet with employers from across the hospitality industry, including hotels, restaurants, events, the airport, and more. A wide range of roles are available, with long-term, full-time roles as well as flexible part-time positions. No previous experience or education requirements. There are roles for people who are not fluent in English. Some hiring will be done on the spot, and other roles will be hired within 48 hours of the event. Resumes are preferred but not required.

A resume printer will be available on-site free of charge.

What kinds of jobs will there be?

There will be employers from across the city, from downtown to the airport.

Many roles will offer room for you the stability of full-time work, with the opportunity to grow in the industry. Others will be more flexible, with part-time roles that can fit your schedule needs.

From servers to kitchen staff, housekeeping to the front desk, and more, there are positions for everyone. Our employers will be coming from across the hospitality industry, including hotels, restaurants, events, and the airport.

Are there education or language requirements to apply?

There are roles for people who are not fluent in English.

There are no education requirements, there are roles for people who do not have a high school education.

Do I need to bring a resume?

Resumes are encouraged but not required. Don’t have one? Just bring yourself!

Both electronic and printed resumes will be accepted. A resume printer will be available on-site free of charge.

How long will each interview take? When can I expect to hear back about jobs?

Each interview will take about 8–10 minutes.

Some hiring will be done on the spot, and other roles will be hired within 48 hours of the event.

How do I get to the event?

The Halifax Convention Centre is at 1650 Argyle St. Halifax, NS, B3J 0E6.

It can be accessed by all major bus routes.

Street parking is available. There are also several nearby parking garages

Enter via the Argyle St. Entrance.

Is the event space fully accessible?

The building and event space are barrier-free and fully accessible.

Do I need a ticket? Is there a cost?

No tickets are required, and the event is free. You can drop in anytime through the day.

When is the best time to attend the event, when it might be a bit quieter?

There will be a sensory-friendly hour from 10am – 11am.

I can’t make the hiring fair. Can I still apply?

If you cannot make the job fair, you can still apply for roles. Contact the individual hospitality organizations you are interested in or check out open roles at tourismtalent.com.

Will there be ASL interpreters at the hiring fair?

There will be an ASL interpreter in attendance between 10am to 6pm on Tuesday, April 16th.
